Free Credit Reports in Canada

You are entitled to receive a credit report once a year for free from the different credit bureaus in Canada; Equifax and TransUnion. If you ask for your credit report once a year from both Credit Bureaus it reflects well on your report because it shows lenders and rental properties that you are a responsible person.

Equifax is the major credit bureau, majority of the financial institutions in Canada use when it comes to lending. For more information please check out their website.

The Federal Budget: Tax Credit for Your Home Renovations

The proposed federal budget offers a temporary new tax credit for your home renovations. If you have cash and are capable of making modifications to your home you can get a tax-credit for up to $1350. I wonder how that is going to help the masses. We would have to put it on a credit card to benefit receiving the tax-credit. I find this irresponsible to rack up the credit card just to stimulate the economy. Thanks, but, no thanks!!

Who wrote this budget, Stephan Harper or Paul Martin???

Know Your Credit Score

When you’re applying for credit; whether it’s a credit card, a car loan, a personal loan or for a mortgage, lenders want to know your credit risk level.

In other words, “If I give this person a loan or credit card, how likely is it that I will get paid back on time?” There are two
major credit reporting agencies (Equifax and TransUnion) in Canada that maintain records of your use of credit and other information about you. These records are called credit reports, and lenders will want to check your credit report when you apply for credit. In most cases, lenders will also want to know your credit score.

Raigen D’Angelo’s New Years Resolutions 2009

I have so wanted to focus on something that was very relevant to everyone’s future – our chance to retire with enough money so we do not end up having to choose between medication and food in my senior years; hence all the changes to my blog.

After many years of not caring and screwing up our lives financially, times have got to change. It won’t be easy to say the least as I am barely making money and we are basically a one income household from the private sector that has no pension fund.

This year we will really have to know the word “NO”, we are so deep in credit card debt and we have to get out of that. No more wasting money this year and just for today.

Cheers to financial independence to you!!
